Brisbane Born and Bred, Paul developed a passion for gardening from a very early age. An accomplished horticulturist with a Diploma in Horticulture and a Greenkeeper by trade, Paul has a passion for all things subtropical.

Paul is the Horticultural Coordinator of the world’s largest subtropical garden, Roma Street Parkland in Brisbane’s CBD. “I feel very fortunate to have made a career out of my passion for plants, garden design and the environment”.

Achievements include DPI Young Achiever of the Year 2004 and the Qld Horticulturist of the Year 2004, presenter on the Garden Gurus TV show and are currently actively involved in the Australian’s Open Garden Scheme and The Australian Institute of Horticulture.

A passion for gardening is evident as a writer and photographer with the subTropical Gardening magazine. He also presents selected Subtropical Gardening Classes run by the Australian Institute of Horticulture.

Paul’s love of gardening has led him to explore the gardens of England, France, Germany, Italy and Singapore. “I love that gardening is very hands on, and we are all still learning. I have a sign above my desk which reads: We are the artist and Nature is our canvas”.
