Claire Bickle is a qualified Brisbane-based horticulturist.
She has worked in multiple areas within the horticultural industry for over 20 years.
As well as casually teaching horticulture for Brisbane North Institute of TAFE, Claire enjoys delivering Sustainable Living Seminars for the Brisbane City Council, being a guest speaker at many different gardening events and expos, presenting on the community TV gardening show ‘Blooming in Brisbane’ and writing for many horticultural and sustainability publications.
Her passion for everything horticultural stems from many a childhood day spent in the company of her grandmother, an avid gardener and plant lover.
Having lived on acreage for the past 17 years, Claire enjoys pursuing her love of nature and sustainable gardening in a subtropical climate by growing with her family their own organic fruit, vegetables, herbs and the meeting with the challenge of blending this in with the surrounding environment and with her other plant passions, natives and flowering perennials. Over this time Claire has also become successful breeder of various types of purebred poultry from many chicken breeds to ducks, Guinea fowl, quail and turkeys.
