Born in Brisbane, Paul has worked as a nurseryperson, landscaper and interior plantscaper, and has been involved in training, garden judging and guest speaker roles. He is well known for experimenting with plants to see what works and what does not in his gardens, and sharing that experience – a true plantsman! For this reason, he is a popular speaker at gardening gardening expos, events, garden clubs as well as giving talks in local libraries within Brisbane.
Paul has assisted in the research and editing of over 19 books (gardening and non-gardening titles) and many gardening magazines (periodicals and single titles).
Radio – includes time on 4BC, 94.9 RiverFM, and is now the garden presenter on Noosa 101.3FM every Saturday morning from 6-8am. www.noosacommunityradio.org
Television – the garden presenter on "My Time" which aired in 2012 on Digital 31 station – which can now be seen on Youtube. He has also been seen as a guest 'garden guru' on Channel 9's EXTRA program.
As a qualified horticulturist, Paul is frequently hired as a consultant to assess the effectiveness and client-value of landscape designs for private gardens and commercial sites.
Paul is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Horticulture – only 18 individuals across Australia are Fellows.
As Editor of subTropical Gardening his aim is to bring the passion, the interest and the science knowledge behind horticulture to the gardening public who live in the subtropics, tropics and warm climate areas of Australia and beyond.
